If you have received a traffic ticket and you want to take our Comedy Defensive Driving online course, you will first need to obtain your driving record. There is an easy way to get your Texas driving record. The reason why you need this record is that you must first be approved for defensive driving by the court that issued you the traffic ticket. Many times the court will give you your driving record and information about the option of taking a driving safety course in Texas.
If you are not sure if you are eligible to take our course, then we recommend that you call the Clerk of Courts to see if you may take a course to dismiss your traffic ticket. Individual judges have different policies, so you will need to find out what applies to you in your particular circumstances. There are limits to how many times you can dismiss a traffic citation, but if it has been a year since you have taken our course, then you are probably eligible to take it again.
We have found that the easiest way to get your Texas driving record, if the court has not already obtained it for you, is to order it online. Simply follow these easy steps:
1. Go to the State of Texas website.
2. Follow the link to “driver record.”
3. Order version 3A, which is a certified copy that most courts in the state require.
4. Pay $12.00 with a credit card.
5. Receive your certificate within a few days of ordering it.
You may need to turn in your Texas driving record, along with your certificate, after you finish your defensive driving in Texas online course.
