Before you are eligible to take our TX defensive driving course, you will need to get your Texas driving record. The court that issued the traffic citation to you must approve an online Texas defensive driving course for you to have your traffic ticket dismissed. Some of the courts in the state get your driving record for you, but they charge you extra. We recommend that you take these steps to get your Texas driving record:

1. Go online to the State of Texas website and follow the links to order a driving record.

2. Be sure to order version 3A, which is a certified copy that most courts require.

3. Pay $12.00 with a credit card online.

4. Allow a few days to process your driving record and for it to arrive in the mail.

You need to be aware that the court has assigned a deadline when all of your paperwork must be turned in after you complete your defensive driving course. It is important to know when this date is so that you finish watching the online video by this time. Once you have completed it, you can turn in your Defensive Driving Completion Certificate, Texas Driving Record, and any other additional affidavits if they are required.

Why Is Your Texas Driving Record Required?

The court that issued your driving citation wants to examine your Texas driving record to see how many traffic violations you have already had dismissed. Most drivers are allowed to take the course even if they have had another ticket dismissed in the same year
