Once you have those, click here. For the Texas state approved course, click on the yellow box to the right of the page labeled “Texas”. Once you have done so, click on the register now button. Choose your purpose for taking the course: Ticket Dismissal, Insurance Only, and Work Purposes. From here you will be asked to give your personal information. The only difference, those taking the course for ticket dismissal will need more information.

If you are taking a course for ticket dismissal you will need, your court information and a copy of your driving record. To find your court information you will need the driving ticket you received. The name and address of the court will be listed on the ticket. You will also need a copy of your driving record. To order a copy of your driving record you will need to go to the official Texas Department of Public Safety Website. Put in your information and they will send you a copy.

How can taking a driver safety course save me money on my insurance?

Once you have completed a course you are not only a better informed driver, you are also saving money. You will receive a certificate of completion immediately after passing the final exam. Take this certificate and send it to your car insurance company. On average people who complete a course save 10% on their yearly insurance rate. For example the average full coverage car insurance rate in Texas is $2578 per year. This means that by taking an online driver safety course you would be saving around $258.

How long is the course?

Total time for the course is 6 hours, this is the legal minimum requirement by the state. Once the course is completed you will take a short final exam. Don’t worry you have 3x to pass.
