Speeding fines will vary by the county you are ticketed in, so it is important to verify your fine with the county clerk of court. To give you an idea of the typical fines, here are the typical fines for Hillsborough County you will pay if you also decide to take the driving school election:

  • 1 to 5 miles per hour over the speed limit: Warning only
  • 6 to 9 miles per hour over the speed limit: $118
  • 10-14 miles per hour over the speed limit: $193
  • 15-19 miles per hour over the speed limit: $243
  • 20-29 miles per hour over the speed limit: $268
  • 30+ miles per hour over the speed limit: Mandatory court
